About Me
Personal
I grew up during the 90s tech boom. Ever since my first PC in 1996, I've been captivated by the versatility computers offer. I enjoy doing anything that involves using a computer, even my taxes. 🤣
My first exposure to programming was when I started making RPG Maker games in high school. Part of the allure was the wide variety of tasks involved, and in college I started reading books on programming and game development for fun. It wasn't until graduate school that I started to realize that not everyone is a computer geek, and that a tech career might suit me.
Outside of computers some of my other interests include fitness, cooking, and business. I try to balance the time I spend sitting in front of a screen by staying active, highlights have included training in Karate and even a few survival competitions.

Education
University of Florida | BS, Computer Science - 2023
My Computer Science degree complements my practical experience and provides me with a broader technical perspective. Having worked as a self taught programmer, the focus on foundational Computer Science principles offered by formal study provides room for future growth in my career.
University of Florida | Warrington College of Business | MS, Management - 2006
The team-based work completed for my Management degree taught me to be proactive. Business study is helpful in understanding the relevance of your work to the broader organization and also pertinent to Software Engineering. Software Engineering is primarily concerned with the methodical and reproducible production of software, which is facilitated through project management.
University of Florida | BS, Microbiology - 2005
My Microbiology degree honed my inductive reasoning and analytical skills, emphasizing empirical methods that have proven invaluable in my career. While software errors are typically deterministic, they often take on stochastic qualities within complex systems. Over-reliance on deduction can make debugging and troubleshooting software more difficult, highlighting the importance of inductive reasoning in practical settings.
